The French-American Chamber of Commerce of the Pacific Northwest is sponsoring Bastille Day Sunday Jul 11 at the Seattle Center, and flying out two skaters: Sylvain Geoffroy and Charles Lautru from Nantes, France to have a skate cultural exchange at SeaSk8. Local Seattle skater James Starlin will be the events MC. We will have prizes from Manik, Nomadic, and Sno Con. Free clinic by Skate Like a Girl.

Here is the day's tentative schedule:

1:30: Welcome
2:00: Game of Skate / Skate 101 - Park etiquette
2:30: Demo
3:00: Clinic starts / Skate 101 + contest: putting together a board
3:30: Highest Ollie
4:00: Highest Wall Ride
4:30: Event Ends

Giant Magnet has added skateboarding to the mix this year. Come watch demos, take a Skate 101 workshop on skateboarding terms, skatepark etiquette, putting together a skateboard and more! Snocon, Skatebarn, BVSP, GOODS, Skate Like a Girl, Nomadic, Manik and others will be teaming up for the weekend to make it fun for everyone – all ages and abilities. Here we are taking advantage of those new colorful lights behind the vert glass wall at Seask8. The skater's name is Phil and he happens to be from Minneapolis attending the Cornish College of the Arts and studying photography. Lots of fun was had trying to catch the different lights behind the skater. We encourage anybody interested in video or photography to come through and take advantage of such such a photogenic park!

Thanks to everyone that came by today!
Also big thanks to our volunteers: Muriel Deklerk, Joyce Lin and Biju Mathew for rolling around on a Saturday morning.
We did a clinic and best trick. Bring some 12 and unders by next Saturday.

Why? This Say Ryan won the best trick and got a Nomadic deck!
We gave Zoe a knit cap and Ugly Girl tee, and the other boys Jack and George Manik tshirt and some stickers.

Tons of gals out skating under the instruction of Carrie and her Rooks crew!

What a fun turnout! Skate Like a Girl tour are getting amped for the long journey to Winnipeg. Tomorrow skate stops include: Greenlake, Marginal, Bellevue Plaza, and end up at Skatebarn for a clinic at 4 followed by a demo!

Then a quick stop to pick up Fred Luyet, and Nina Suesstrunk's luggage that took a journey without her. Roll into Vancouver at night!
